A room is one’s sanctuary. It holds within it personality, sensations, memories, and inspiration. It gives clues of its owner’s perceptions of the world through the physical objects and color composition.
But most importantly, a room reflects the art of Teoria et Praxis (theory and practice) in architecture. The theory as vertical structures that enclose some area of land; such being materially flexible from bricks to stones, and everything in between. Now, the practice represents the protection and infinite decoration possibilities that are generated from these enclosed walls.
In a college dorm, bringing your essence to the room is essential. It comes as a blank canvas, ready to be painted. In the Homeroom Project, those details, traced in fine 005 ink, bring character to the nature of the existing disposition, and contrast with the thicker objects.
The floor plan and elevations, therefore, create an ab- sorption of one’s reality, interrelating it with the essentiality of architecture.
